What is the 4B Movement?

The 4B movement, originating in South Korea, is a feminist movement promoting a lifestyle of female separatism, where womyn reject patriarchal violence and conditioning by separating from male supremacist institutions. The "4B" stands for four principles/practices that start with "bi-" (meaning "no" or "non-"): bihon (no marriage), biseongae (no dating), biseksu (no sexual relationships), and bichulsan (no childbirth). The principles of the 4B movement encourage womyn to prioritize their independence, financial freedom, and mental health without conforming to expectations of heterosexual relations, marriage, or motherhood.
